My wife and I had been looking and praying for a house for months. One Sunday afternoon we stopped in New Palestine and saw the house we felt like would be the one for us. It was a Paul Mitford custom built home. Obviously, the first thing we noticed was the design, but secondly we noticed the quality of the construction. Once we talked with the sales person and he provided us with the information on the home, we immediately received the confidence we needed in order to make a final decision to build. We were not necessarily looking to build, but once we saw Paul Mitford’s homes and met with him personally, we knew we were in good hands. We had never built a home before, so Paul was patient with us and willing to listen to our nearly daily numerous questions. He always responded quickly, yet never pressured us into making decisions. He also seemed to have a keen sense of knowing what would be best for us.
One thing that unnerved us was that the lot we chose was on the water and too small to accommodate the house we wanted to build. Again, Paul worked with us and found a way to fit the house on the lot by situating the 3-car garage perpendicular to the house. We made several interior changes to the house during construction and Paul was always willing to make those changes. On one occasion we asked something of Paul that he certainly was not obligated to do, but yet he was kind enough to do it. We wanted our home to have a strong foundation not only in concrete, but also with a foundation of faith. We asked Paul if he could insert our favorite verses of scripture in a container and put them in the foundation. He made the arrangements to meet with us and once again he was very accommodating. The scriptures were Psalm 127:1a, “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it” and I Corinthians 3:11, “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ”. We continued to watch as our new home started to take shape and looked forward with excitement to the day we would move in. We have now lived in our home nearly 3 years and have never regretted building with Paul Mitford. He not only builds a great custom home, but he is a great builder with integrity, easy to work with and we highly recommend him to anyone who is considering building a home.
